RESEARCH STUDY ANNOUNCEMENT

Dr. Steven Finkbeiner, from the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease, University of California, San Francisco is conducting a research study to learn about the causes of Huntington’s disease (HD). We need families willing to participate in which at least one person is affected with HD. We are especially interested in families with two generations in which there are affected and unaffected people in each generation. By carefully examining cells from individuals ages 13 and older with HD, or a family member of someone with HD, we hope to learn information that will lead to new treatments. Participation in this study requires a single 2-hour visit.

Dear Chapter Friend,

This one time each year, we ask you to help support the many care-related services that our chapter
provides to families with Huntington’s disease in Northern California.

We all agree that funding research is important as it’s the way to find a treatment or cure for this
tough disease, but it’s the family services that help HD families, right now, while we’re on this
difficult journey waiting for the cure.

For more information about how important your donations are to us.
